How to Track Solana Wallets
Find wallets worth watching, add them to a tracker, and turn their on-chain moves into alerts you can act on.

Tracking a Solana wallet means watching a specific address’s on-chain activity, the tokens it buys and sells, and turning that activity into timely alerts. Because everything on Solana is public, you can follow any address; the skill is choosing wallets worth following and reading their trades in context.

Why traders track wallets
Consistently profitable traders, often called “smart money”, leave a public trail. Watching what they buy can surface tokens earlier than a trending feed and give you context you would otherwise miss. It is not a guarantee: you see the trade after it happens, you rarely know the wallet’s full strategy or size, and even skilled traders lose. Wallet tracking is a research signal, not a copy-paste to profit.
How to find wallets worth watching
Good candidates usually share a few traits. Look for consistency over a single lucky win, and be skeptical of screenshots promoted on social media.
- A track record across many trades, not one moonshot
- Early entries into tokens that later gained real volume
- Reasonable position sizing rather than reckless all-ins
- Activity in the kind of tokens you actually want to trade
You can find addresses from block explorers, from the buyer list of a token you already hold, or from wallets surfaced by a discovery tool. Save a shortlist and observe before acting.
Step-by-step: add and monitor a wallet
Get the wallet address
Copy the Solana address you want to follow from an explorer, a token holder list, or a discovery feed.
Add it to a tracker
Add the address to a wallet tracker such as Cheetah’s wallet tracker. Label it so you remember why you are watching it.
Enable alerts
Opt in to alerts so you are notified when the wallet buys or sells. On Cheetah these are opt-in smart-money alerts.
Observe before you act
Watch a few of the wallet’s moves and how those tokens behave before you consider trading alongside it. Confirm the signal is real, not a fluke.
Decide how you respond
You can trade manually on an alert, or mirror the wallet automatically with copy trading. Understand the difference before automating anything.
Reading a wallet's trades
A buy alone tells you little. Read it in context: how large is the position relative to the wallet’s usual size, is it adding to a winner or catching a falling token, and has it already started selling? A wallet that buys then quietly exits within minutes is not the same as one accumulating a position.
Watch for exits, not just entries
The most useful alerts are often sells. A tracked trader taking profit or cutting a loss is a signal too, and if you are following them, you want to know when they leave, not just when they arrive.
Common mistakes
- Chasing an entry after the price already moved on the alert
- Following one wallet blindly without understanding its strategy
- Ignoring position size, a whale’s tiny bet may be your huge one
- Assuming past performance predicts the next trade
Risks & limitations
You always see trades after the fact, and network/data timing means alerts can arrive after the best price is gone. A wallet’s past success does not predict its next trade, and some “smart” wallets are promoters or insiders you would not want to copy. Tracking informs your decisions; it does not make them for you.
